Personal Journey

Embarking on my journey as an international student at the age of 17 ignited a passion for psychology, driven by a profound interest in human connections. Witnessing fellow students struggle to find understanding in a foreign land inspired me to pursue a path in psychological counseling, aiming to fill the gap in empathetic care for individuals in need.

My experiences as an international student deepened my empathy towards peers facing similar challenges and broadened my perspective on the diverse struggles of individuals from various backgrounds. During my graduate studies, interacting with a mosaic of individuals provided invaluable insights into their unique experiences, enriching my understanding of the complexities of mental health.

What got me into Couple Therapy

Growing up amidst my parents' tumultuous arguments and eventual divorce sparked a profound curiosity about intimate relationships. Striving to comprehend how couples reach such breaking points and seek better solutions, I delved into the study of Marriage and Couple Therapy during my graduate studies.

Immersing myself in this field, I have embarked on a journey to understand the dynamics of relationships and explore effective therapeutic approaches. I am actively pursuing certifications in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), driven by a passion to help couples navigate challenges, rebuild connections, and foster healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Clinical Approach

Drawing from a rich tapestry of mindfulness, person-centered, and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, I approach therapy through a multicultural lens. At the core of my philosophy is the belief that each individual has a unique perspective of the world and the inherent authority to navigate their own journey. By predominantly employing a person-centered approach complemented by CBT skills, I guide clients in delving into their innermost thoughts and discovering their authentic life aspirations. I firmly advocate for the idea that clients benefit from a diverse array of therapeutic techniques. Thus, I tailor my methods to suit each person, acknowledging the importance of personalized strategies. With a profound respect for multiculturalism, I strive to cultivate an inclusive space where diverse backgrounds and viewpoints are honored.
