My Path to Becoming a Clinician

My name is Rachel Du, and I am currently pursuing my Master degree in the Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness program at New York University. I speak both Mandarin and English. I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults. As an international student living and studying in the U.S., I deeply feel the uncertainties and challenges of adapting to a new culture and building up positive self-images.

Creating a Safe and Supportive Space

My philosophy centers on creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where clients can explore unique challenges, develop effective coping strategies, and work towards inner fulfillment. Growing up, many of us may find ourselves feeling confused and hesitant as we encounter different people and get exposed to different cultures. I provide tailored need to every individual, and I believe all emotions should be seen and valued. Moreover, I want to let you know that you are not alone and you can always love yourself:)

My Therapeutic Approach

I incorporate a strength-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach and positive psychology from a multicultural perspective. I believe in the power of CBT to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, and I use positive psychology to promote resilience and well-being.

Whether you are seeking support as an adolescent, young adult, or part of the Asian community, I am here to help you on your journey. Together, we can work towards a brighter, more fulfilling future, realizing your strengths and fostering resilience every step of the way. My ultimate goal is to support my clients in their journey towards wholeness, helping them build a healthier and more balanced life.
